72 mpg

Tim loaned me his Honda Insight to travel with earlier this month. I spent the 4th of July in Joseph, OR visiting Todd Wiegand and checking out the flying off Mt. Howard. Afterwards I went to Chelan, WA for the www.chelanxcopen.com paragliding competition.

I averaged over 60mpg for the 2000+ miles I drove. On my best stretch I got 72 mpg over 235 miles. This incredible car has a 10 gallon gas tank and can get 600+ miles per tank. It's zippy with a very smooth ride, and has the best turning radius of any car I've even driven.

The Wallowa Mountains reminded me a bit of the Sangre de Cristos near Taos, NM: rugged, snowy, and having an incredible raw beauty. Upon entering WA I skirted Walla Walla where incredible wheat fields stretched as far as I could see.

Pacifica

Melissa and I explored the coast near Pacifica, Ca. Although the air was warm and the waves sent shivers up our legs.
