Lights enchanting

This beautiful pool beckons me just a few steps outside the door of my room. After a day indoors in the theater I found myself playing with my camera in the courtyard of the Casa Cody.

Every morning Señor Gato Loco sits outside my room awaiting some attention. We hang out for a bit until I have to depart for the theater.

Life in the Coachella Valley

I've been jumping alot lately. Am I extra happy? Is my sleep deeper and so I have more energy during the day? Does my body celebrate from the good food I've been making and eating? Maybe it's because my knee is feeling better now after I crashed and tweeked it in Telluride a month ago.

Home until yesterday has been the Travel Lodge; the first two nights I shared the room with a couple of other PSIFF staff and then I had the place to myself the next two nights. As soon as the sun rises over the distant peaks to the east it begins warming the cement outside my room, so that once I arise from bed and start the morning brew there's warmth outside my door, welcoming me to the new day.

Yesterday I moved into the Casa Cody, which is quite a step up from the Travel Lodge, and it's also a 2 min walk from the Annenburg Theater where I work, no longer a 3 mile commute on bicycle to the theater. After the first show today I took advantage of the 2 hr break for a hike in the mountains on a trail that begins at the end of the theater parking lot. I love it. And now it's work again, watching the 13,000ft reels go round and round.

Palm Springs International Film Festival

I arrived in Palm Springs, California two nights ago for the Palm Springs International Film Festival. I'm projecting at the Annenburg Theater, showing 4 films a day for the next 10 days.
